Diagnosis and planning
After
diagnosis and treatment planning, implants are surgically inserted in the jaw using local anesthetic
or, in some circumstances, under general anesthetic as an outpatient procedure.
Building
up the bone
If the available bone volume and bone quality are insufficient, the
bone can be replaced.
Healing
During the
healing period, the jaw bone integrates with the implant to form a secure base for an artificial tooth.
Final
denture
During the healing period, an esthetic temporary tooth fills the gap until
the final denture is inserted. As soon as healing is complete, the new teeth are screwed or cemented
to the implant post.
In some cases, it is also possible to insert the final crown or denture immediately after insertion of the implant or implants. Your dentist can advise you on this option.
Care
Good oral hygiene
and regular check-ups with your dentists are essential for the long-term success of dental implants.
